OCCIDENTAL EXTENSION

Occidental Community Center building is open during class and open gym times only. The building houses a mult-purpose room, kitchen, medium sized activity room, bathrooms, and the YMCA office. The auditorium, kitchen, and activity room are available to rent for community groups and private functions. Please contact Becky Ennis, Occidental YMCA Director at 707-874-2242. Basketball and tennis courts located outside next to the facility. Tennis courts have lights for evening play.

Go west on College Avenue 3.3 miles (8 minutes)

Continue on Graton Road 6.1 miles (11 minutes)
Turn left at Bohemian Highway 157 feet

PROGRAMS

Pilates Mat Class:
Every Tuesday & Thursday 10 - 11 am
$12/class (sliding scale)

The Pilates method of exercise strengthens the core, lengthens the spine, builds muscle tone, and increases body awareness and flexibility. Pilates addresses the body as a whole, correcting the body's asymmetries and chronic weaknesses to prevent injury, re- injury and to bring the body back into balance. The instructor, Mary Black, is certified by the International PhysicalMind Institute and has taught groups & individuals for five years.

Yoga Class:
Every Friday 9:15am-10:15am, $44 month or $12 drop-in starting September 7

Y-Kids Club:
The Y-Kids Club is our new after-school program offered at Harmony Elementary School. This program runs one hour a day and is designed for youth in kindergarten through 2nd grade. Activities include nature hikes, outdoor sports, indoor games, and various crafts scheduled around the season and current events and holidays.

After School Recreation Program:
The After School Recreation Program is located at Harmony Elementary School and is designed for youth in kindergarten through 6th grade. This program offers a fun and safe place for children to be after school. Activities include outside games and sports, arts and crafts, social and skill building games, cooking groups, and more.

Summer Day Camp:
Our Summer Day Camp is offered for youth kindergarten through 6th grade. Youth spend their day participating in a variety of activities and games based on expanding their social, emotional and physical well-being. Each session has a new theme which includes appropriate events, walking field trips, and special guests. The day camp serves a mixed group of children of many ages and abilities. The day camp also has a "Junior Counselor" program in which local teens become positive role models who provide assistance to the younger children.

After School Classes:
The Occidental YMCA Extension offers a variety of after school classes for youth taught by many different members of the community. Classes typically last 4-8 weeks and have included baking, art, and sports as well as a year round Modern Dance Class.

Adult Open Gym Nights:
Adult Sports nights run four evenings a week. Basketball is offered on Tuesdays. This program is offered for a small fee and are run on a drop-in basis.

Saturday Morning Chi Gong:
Saturday morning Chi Gong class offered on drop-in fee schedule. Learn various exercises that have been used for thousands of years to create greater range of motion, postural balance & core stability in gentle flowing movements. Suitable for most abilities. Class is performed seated or standing. Contact Jane Golden for more information and times, 874-2042
