MOVING-ON CAMP (Ages 11-13)

Summer 2009 Moving-On Camps are theme oriented adventure camps. Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, campers will meet at Santa Rosa Middle School and take day trip activities from 8 am to 5 pm. On Thursdays, teens bring their sleeping bags as they hit the open road for an overnight and two full days of fun and adventure. These camps are structured to teach new skills, explore team building, and make new friends.

Session 1: Action & Adventure I - Cancelled
June 1 - 5
Kick off the summer with a little adventure! This week will be action packed & leave you wanting more. We will go to the Chabot Space Center, skating, and then go horseback riding on the beach.

Session 2: Water & Waves I
June 8 - 12
Bring your swimsuits everyday; we’re going to get wet! We will play at the beach, visit various swimming holes and have fun in the sun at Water World Concord and Water World Sacramento.

Session 3: Redwoods & Rollercoasters
June 15 - 19
Dust off your hiking shoes & get ready for exploration! Armstrong Woods and the Bodega Bay coastline are two great places we will visit. At the end of the week we will trek all the way to Great America for a little fun in the sun.

Session 4: Golf & Games
June 22 - 26
Get ready to practice your swing and hit the green with First Tee of the North Bay. Mornings will begin with golf instruction by the local golf pros. The week will end with a trip to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and a round of golf on a real course.

Session 5: Swim & Safari
June 29 - July 3
The summer is heating up this week with trips to the San Francisco Zoo and Finley Swim Center. We will end the week by going on safari to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo.

Session 6: Rocks & Rivers
July 6 - 10
Go vertical this week at this exciting camp. Test your strength and teamwork with trips to Vertex Climbing Center, Johnson’s Beach on the Russian River, and Spring Lake. We will finish off this week with camping and a day of real rock climbing

Session 7: Tides & Trails
July 13 - 17
Join us for this fun and new adventure. We will be taking to the trails and hiking some great areas including Annadel State Park and Armstrong Woods. We will also visit Point Reyes National Seashore and Bodega Bay and go hiking on Angel Island!

Session 8: Ship to Shore
July 20 - 24
By land or by sea, this week will take you all over. We will take take a trip to the beach. And we will finish the week with an all camp game of paintball!

Session 9: Boats & Ball Games
July 27 - 31
Anchors away! We will be hitting the water for a little boating on Lake Ralphine and hop on the ferry for a trip to the Giants Game. We will take a trip to the Sonoma County Fair. Finally, we will tour the San Francisco Bay by ferry with a stop at Pier 39.

Session 10: Action & Adventure II
August 3 - 7
This camp is so fun, we are doing it twice! With a different adventure every day, campers will go bowling, have fun at Memorial Beach, visit Scandia and an all camp game of paintball!!

Session 11: Water & Waves 2 - Cancelled
August 10 - 14
The summer is almost over and it is time to cool off one more time. During this week of water madness, the camp will be swimming, sliding and kayaking their way to the end of summer.
