CHILDCARE STAFF

The primary role for all staff is to provide a safe, secure, stimulating environment for all of the children in our care. The Sonoma County Family YMCA's goal is to employ a trained, qualified childcare staff that sincerely cares about your child and is available to share your concerns.

All staff meet the requirements as outlined by the State of California Community Care Licensing. Directors generally have either AA or BA degrees and a combination of experience. Teachers have a minimum of 12 units and experience. Aides must have experience working with children and are encouraged to obtain college credit courses. Educational requirements are in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or Recreation. Staff/Child ratio is 1:14.
