Every day, the Y confronts and solves important issues in our community: reading and kindergarten readiness, early onset diabetes, academic achievement gaps, mental health, and decreased quality family time. We support people’s goals and invest in youth, seniors, and families in their quest for active and healthy lifestyles.

But one of the most unique things about the Y is the connectedness that happens. The social interaction, the new friendships. And now more than ever people need a safe place to feel welcomed, included, connected and at home. To share life’s ups and downs with each other. To help one another. The Y offers plentiful opportunities for people to bond and lift each other up. We see it every day. The listening ear the after school care teacher gives to the kid who was bullied at school that day. The apple shared with a hungry older person who is struggling to make ends meet with their fixed-income. A few dollars surreptitiously slipped to the homeless teen who comes in for a shower and a shave before heading off to work. The gifts tucked under the tree in the Y lobby that will brighten the holiday for a single mom who couldn’t afford to give her kids anything.

Welcoming everyone -ensuring our doors are open to all- each year the Y gives assistance to low- and fixed income youth, families and seniors via outreach programs offered free of charge and through partial scholarships to others. We partner with dozens and dozens of organizations to ensure the people they support also have access to showers and fitness programs. In 2018 more than $235,000 was given to support the health and well-being of families, seniors, single parents, grandparents who are fostering their grandchildren, and teachers and schools that lost everything in the fires. Your generous donations help make this possible. Learn more about the Y and a few of its Community Programs.

Your donation brings Y programs out to people the community and opens our door to a low-or fixed-income child, teen, single parent, family or senior.
