Matthew brings over 17 years of non-profit management experience, serving most recently as CEO for the YMCA of Pomona Valley for the past 4 years. Prior to the Pomona Valley Y he was an Executive Director with the San Diego Y Association.
During his Y career, he has learned the importance of strong leadership skills, successful team building, strong fiscal management & excellence in programming. He has also lead a successful capital campaign and understands the value & benefits reaped of deepening relationships and connecting the Y in the community.

Michelle is the Chief Operations Officer, overseeing operations for Membership, Aquatics, Health & Wellness, Facility & Community Programs.
She began her Y career in 1990 with the Southwest Illinois YMCA, working in Childcare/Camp Programs. She started with the Sonoma County Family Y in 1992, and over the years has been fortunate to be able to experience the Y serving in various capacities in Childcare, Camp, Community Programs, and Operations.
Michelle was born & raised in Belleville, Il. She graduated from the University of Kentucky (Go Big Blue!), with a BS in Psychology with an emphasis on Family Studies. She moved to Sonoma County in 1992, after marrying her high school sweetheart. Michelle & her husband Mickey currently live in Windsor with their 2 sons. Some of her favorite things to do are spending time with family & friends, “get aways” with her husband, watching her boys play sports, reading and keeping active.

Hailing from Santa Monica, CA, and recently transplanted to Santa Rosa, Charlene brings many years of experience in a variety of roles in both the for-profit and non-profit worlds. Most recently, as Director of Finance for the Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles, Charlene’s experience has led to her commitment to non-profit and to have a deeper understanding of the value of “mission” and what it means to a diverse group of individuals across our community.
Charlene is a past member of the Y. Her two children have grown up with the Y attending both after-school programs and summer camp. Now on the other side of the fence, Charlene is thrilled to have re-joined the Y Family and hopes to provide many years of service to such a great organization and its members.
She enjoys spending time with her family, especially her first grandson, here in Santa Rosa and is looking forward to experiencing all the great things Sonoma County has to offer!

With 10 years of Development experience garnered working at her alma mater, Sonoma State University, Michelle brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with her to advance the mission of our local YMCA for the benefit of the entire Sonoma County community.
A native of Michigan, Michelle moved to the SF Bay Area in 1983 and has made Santa Rosa her home for 26 years. Her husband grew up in the Y neighborhood, their daughter learned to swim here and they’ve been members off and on over the decades. Michelle walks to work and enjoys the Y’s yoga and Feldenkrais group exercise classes.
She loves to spend time with her family and friends whether that’s enjoying their front porch swing or traveling internationally together. In between being a softball coach, Girl Scout troop leader and homework advisor Michelle finds extreme joy in experiencing new places and views, dancing to pop, rock and disco music, and taking in all that Sonoma County has to offer.
Keith Neal, Facilities Director

Keith is the Facilities Director overseeing the facilities and grounds of the YMCA, Billing and Program Office and all the childcare sites. He began his Y career in Aug. 2013. He came to the Y with 25+ years of experience as a Building Engineer in San Francisco and San Rafael.
Keith was born in Brooklyn, NY. While growing up his family moved around with the military. His family moved to Rohnert Park in 1976 where he graduated from Rancho Cotate and attended SRJC and Petaluma Tech where he studied Electrical Engineering.
Keith enjoys spending time with his 5 daughters and grandson (with another on the way) and his significant other, Crystal, who also works for the Y as a Site Director in Rohnert Park. Keith enjoys camping, boating, and sports.
Suzanne Tesconi, Membership Director

Suzanne was born and raised in Northern California and graduated from CSU, Chico with a B.S. in Liberal Studies and a minor in Early American Literature. She spent 20 years working with the City of Vacaville’s Community Services Department and supervised programs from infant to seniors.
Before relocating to Santa Rosa she worked as the Membership Director for the Williamsport YMCA in North Central Pennsylvania.
When she wants to balance a busy work week you can find her with her nose in a book, digging in the dirt, cooking, or walking her big yellow Lab along several “secret” trails. She looks forward to exploring all that this region has to offer and invites members to stop by and share their favorite spots!
Rachel Marcus, Health & Wellness Director

Rachel brings over 10 years of healthy living experience through her careers as a Cognitive Behavior Therapy Coach, Personal Trainer & YMCA Wellness Coach She is passionate about helping people live well and feel at home in the bodies they are in. She has experience working individually with clients, facilitating group classes, and designing sensitivity trainings for providers and is committed to meet people where they are at and build strong connections. She also has expertise in preventative healthcare, employee wellness programs, chronic disease management, chronic pain management, fitness training from an inclusive perspective, stress/ anxiety reduction, and behavioral health. We are excited to have Rachel join our Y family!
Pam Rockey, Aquatics Director

Pam’s YMCA career began in 2005 as the Aquatics Coordinator of the Berwick YMCA in Northeastern PA. She then moved to Freeport, Maine to become the Aquatics Coordinator for the YMCA of Southern Maine. In 2014, she began her career as an Aquatics Director with the Lancaster Family YMCA in Southeastern PA until moving to California in late 2016. Whilst in California, Pam has been an Aquatics Lead for the Strawberry Recreation District and the Assistant General Manager for the Scott Valley Swimming and Tennis Club in Mill Valley, CA. Throughout Pam's career, she's learned the value of teamwork, leadership, responsibility, honesty and respect and will continue to practice and encourage those qualities within our Aquatics Department and community.
Pam was born & raised in Berwick, PA. She graduated from Bloomsburg University with a BA in Languages and Cultures with an emphasis on Spanish culture. She moved to Petaluma, California in November 2016 with her husband, Sean, and daughter, Zoe. If you catch Pam outside of work, you’ll be sure to see her spending time with family and enjoying the amazing California sunshine.
Nasrina Evenstar, Associate HEALTH & WELLNESS DIRECTOR, Group Exercise

Nasrina spent most of her life focused on cerebral pursuits, overweight, and disjointed from her body. In her mid-20s she found yoga and became dedicated to a more fitness-oriented lifestyle. In 2006 she started to make a career shift away from academia and towards fitness. She found the Y five years ago and has been happy to find a career in fitness that also fulfills her lifelong desire to work for a nonprofit organization.
At Kansas State University Nasrina obtained degrees in philosophy, literature, women's studies and cultural theory. She is additionally certified in Personal Training, TRX Group Suspension Trainer, and in multiple styles of yoga.
Her belief is that fitness is a balance between flexibility, strength, cardiovascular conditioning and mindfulness practices. Her fitness philosophy places a lot of focus on the mental work of being present and mind/body connectivity.

Jeremy is a Sonoma County native and came to the Sonoma County Family YMCA with his Grandma for swim lessons and overnights when he was 4 years old. He has been connected to the Y ever since. He began working for the Sonoma County Family in April 1992 as a Spring Camp Counselor and has worked his way up through several positions over the years, now currently serving as Senior Program Manager.
Jeremy loves working at the Y because it gives him an opportunity to work with youth from preschool through High school, and if you’ve met Jeremy- you know he loves kids! He also loves sports!
Jeremy holds a degree in Business from Pacific Union College and is happily married to wife Mandy whom he met at the Y, and who still works with us as well. The Y is truly a family affair, as his daughter Madison also attends Y Camp, sports, and takes swimming lessons at the Y.

For many, Taylor is a familiar face. He began working for the Y in 2011 as a youth sports referee and has since worked as a summer camp counselor, teacher, and most recently as the Site Director of the YMCA/ASES program at Thomas Page Academy, a position he held for 3 years.
Taylor grew up in Manhattan Beach and moved north to attend Sonoma State University. While at SSU Taylor was actively involved as a member of the Sociology Club, Alpha Kappa Delta, Project Censored, as well as playing baseball and volunteering with the Sonoma County Regional Parks.
Taylor's passion for improving the lives of those in the community, especially youth, aligns with the Y's dedication to Youth Development. In his spare time, Taylor enjoys spending time at the beach, hiking, playing basketball & baseball, disc sports & baking!
Crystal Sowards, Youth Development Director

I am Crystal Sowards and I am the new Youth Development Director. I have been with the Y for the past 16 years as a teacher and then Director at the Evergreen and Monte Vista childcare sites in Rohnert Park. I have worked with children for the past 25 plus years in various settings.
I graduated from Sonoma State with a Bachelors of Criminal Justice with a focus on child development.
My significant other, Keith, also works at that YMCA as our Facilities Director. We have five daughters and 1 son ranging from early 30s to the age of four.
We are a very busy family who enjoys sports, camping and just being together.
Claudia Becker, Systems Coordinator

Claudia started in 1991 as the secretary to the CEO and Admin Director. At this time she shared one desktop computer with the Admin Director. Claudia now oversees an extensive network including 60 workstations as the Systems Coordinator.
Claudia has a passion for learning and is largely self-taught. She has learned website building and content management through her own resourcefulness and received training through a few classes at SRJC. Claudia loves the family atmosphere of the Y, and her work fulfills her desire to be helpful to fellow employees so they can provide top-notch customer service to our members and the community.
When not hustling about from computer to computer, Claudia “goes old school for fun” like cooking from scratch, hiking (compass, not GPS), and loves to crochet things to give to her friends and family.
Mona Mitchell, Member Center Coordinator

Mona began working at the Y in April 1986 in Child Watch and became the Child Watch coordinator at the facility in Cotati when it opened. This was a great learning experience for Mona that gave her the opportunity to grow in other areas of the facility.
Mona learned membership transactions, started doing tours and engaging with members which made her a perfect fit for the Member Coordinator position. Mona loves working for the Y because she has learned so much with the support of co-workers and mentors.
The Y has given her a place to grow and raise her four daughters (and now 5 grandchildren) who all have all been involved with the Y at some point in time.
