A co-ed, dry heat sauna with temperatures ranging between 165 and 185 degrees is available to persons age 15 and older.
It is strongly recommended that members do not exceed 10 minutes in the sauna.
Showers are required before entering and when re-entering the pool.
Swimsuits must be worn.
Use of any liquid or aromatic on the rocks is prohibited.
ADULT OPEN EXERCISE
Time reserved for patrons (15 yrs+) to use the pool for an independent workout. Please limit exercises in the therapy pool to those that can be done stationary or walking.
Instructor-led water fitness class. Includes active warm-up, cardiovascular conditioning, muscle toning and cool down. Enjoy this high cardio class while reducing impact on joints.
Aqua Zumba combines traditional Latin-inspired rhythms, pop & global music to keep you moving. The class is suitable for beginners and offers a low-impact, high-intensity cardio, strengthening, and sculpting workout.
An instructor-led class provides a low-impact cardiovascular workout with emphasis on improving flexibility and range of motion. Supportive swimwear and pool shoes are recommended.
ARTHRITIS WATER EXERCISE
This program consists of range-of-motion and muscle-strengthening exercises in warm water. All of the exercises are designed to be within the capabilities of the majority of people with arthritis. Supportive swimwear and pool shoes are recommended.
Spring Lake Village
We offer a low impact senior exercise water fitness class at Spring Lake Retirement Community. Free to Y Members. Program and Non-Members will need to purchase a punch card to attend classes.
A low to moderate intensity exercise program that is designed to help people with mobility, flexibility, balance, and strength. Great for post-surgery, arthritis, stiff muscles and people who want at gentle, full body workout.
MOMMY-TO-BE / PRE-POST NATAL EXERCISE

Mommy-to-Be Pre/Post Natal Aquatics class is offered Tues 6:00 - 7:00 PM, Thurs 6:00 - 7:00 PM and Fri 9:00 - 9:55 AM. This program is designed for non-swimmers and swimmers alike. The class is medically approved and consists of safe exercises in the water to help relieve lower back pain and edema, as well as help, develop and maintain muscle tone. The class is comprised of diverse, low-impact aerobic exercises and stretches to assist and maintain health and wellness before and after delivery. These classes support women interested in enhancing their delivery and recovery by preparing the body through regular, low-intensity exercise. 0 - 3 lanes will be present during the Pre/Post Natal classes.
Prenatal Yoga land class is offered Mondays from 5:30 - 6:30 PM in the Conference Room. This class provides body awareness that will give you the physical and mental strength to prepare for labor and delivery. Helps control weight gain, ease back pain and teach valuable breathing and relaxation techniques.
Register and purchase a punch card in the Member Center. Punch cards are good for either class and include one nutritional consultation a month. Call the Aquatics Director at 545-9622 ext 3126 with any questions.
Recreational swim time open to the public. A “family” is up to 2 adults and their minor children living in the same household. Approved swim diapers are required for all children under 3 years and all who are incontinent.
Open to children and adults. A recreational swim encouraging family fun.
Children age 6 and under must have an adult in the water with them at all times. Approved swim diapers are required for all children under 3 years old.
Children ages 7-9, who can swim unassisted, must have an adult in the pool area while they are swimming.
Children ages 10-12 must have an adult in the YMCA facility while they are in the pool.
If the child cannot swim, an adult must be in the pool with the child.
Any floatation device must be Coast Guard approved. Any child wearing a life jacket must be accompanied by an adult regardless of swimming ability or age.
For patrons (13 yrs+) Lap swim guidelines are posted in the pool area. Must be 13 years of age or older. Exceptions will go through an approval process including a swim test.
Lanes are divided by speed (Slow, Medium, Medium Fast, Fast). The lifeguard reserves the right to make lane assignments when necessary.
Walkers may use the slow lane if they maintain a forward, continuous lap progression.
Lap swim guidelines are posted in the pool area. The Lifeguard reserves the right to make lane assignment and adjustments to the policy when warranted.
LAP SWIM (FAMILY)
Family Lap Swim is a time when families can swim laps together.
Pool lanes are marked by speed (Slow, Medium, Medium Fast, & Fast). Anyone can participate at the lifeguard's discretion. Lap swimmers must maintain a forward, continuous progression in the lane. For your safety, please circle swim in the appropriate lane. Lifeguard will make lane assignments when necessary.
