Water Exercise Classes

All Water Exercise Classes are included with a membership to the Y. Water Exercise Classes incorporate low impact movements and use the resistance and buoyancy of the water to strengthen your body and mind. Space is limited, and reservations are currently required for each class. Our classes are taught at all levels of intensity, and are fit for people of all ages and abilities. Find one that’s right for you! Supportive swimwear and water shoes are recommended for all classes.

Aqua Aerobics

A higher-intensity class that uses noodles, buoys, the wall and your body to elevate your heart rate, burn calories, and increase your cardiovascular fitness. Exercises also aim to help increase balance and flexibility. Keep moving and have fun!

Aqua Fit

A moderate-intensity class that incorporates aerobic exercises to improve strength, range of motion, balance, and flexibility. This class is great if you are recovering from surgery, living with arthritis or muscle stiffness, or if you just want a gentle full-body workout.

Mindful Movement for Balance, Flexibility, and Strength

Not available in August.

Learn to coordinate your breath and movement to align your body, stabilize your core, improve your balance, develop flexibility, and build strength.
Class is scheduled to meet in the small pool.

Hydro-Kinetic Group Exercise

Not available in August.

30 minutes of group exercise followed by individual instruction. This class is tailored to older adults looking to regain strength, balance, and mobility in an inviting and familiar setting, and includes range-of-motion and muscle strengthening exercises in warm water. All of the exercises are designed to be within the capability of most people with arthritis.
