Building a Healthier Workplace, Together

Research shows that health and well-being boost employee engagement and productivity. At the Y, we know that’s important to the health of your organization and the overall health of our community. That’s why we tailor our Workplace Wellness Program to strengthen the whole person in spirit, mind and body and focus on meeting the individual needs of each person. Our goal is to provide a welcoming network of support where everyone has access to the resources and encouragement they need to thrive.

Take the first step toward a healthier, more positive work environment by partnering with us to find ways to support your employees health & well-being. Partnering with the Y allows you and your employees access to our facility and the programs and services our YMCA has to offer—from childcare to a variety of land and water fitness classes—and receive customized service to encourage a more active and healthy lifestyle.

Please take a few minutes to complete our Workplace Wellness Survey so we can better understand your employee's needs and then work with you to customize a program to meet these needs and your budget. Once we receive your survey we will reach out and find a time to answer your questions and learn more about your employee’s needs.

6 Benefits of Healthy Employees

IMPROVED MENTAL HEALTH FROM EMPLOYEES - People who exercised reported 1.5 fewer days of poor mental health each month.

CONTAINMENT OF HEALTH CARE COSTS - It’s a fact: healthy employees cost less than unhealthy employees. Recent studies show that employers who emphasize wellness can save an average of:

  • $1,100 a year for every employee who stops smoking
  • $1,200 a year on employees who lower their cholesterol levels

INCREASED WORKPLACE PRODUCTIVITY - Workers who exercise on a regular basis tend to have more energy and be more productive while at work.

  • The average office worker’s efficiency decreases 50% for the final two hours of the day
  • Regular exercisers work at full efficiency all day, amounting to a 12.5% increase in productivity.

INCREASED WORKPLACE MORALE - Active and healthy employees tend to have a more positive and energetic outlook that can keep morale high within an organization.

DECREASED EMPLOYEE TURNOVER - Many employees view health promotion programs as an added perk that makes them feel valued and appreciated by their employer. Employees who feel valued are less likely to seek employment elsewhere, decreasing turnover and the time, energy and money needed to recruit, hire and train new workers.

DECREASED ABSENTEEISM - Employees suffering from a chronic health condition are likely to miss more work than healthy employees. Helping workers make positive lifestyle changes can reduce absenteeism and the strain it places on company morale and resource.

Workplace Wellness Survey

It’s a proven fact – employees that feel valued, appreciated, empowered and supported in pursuit of their wellness, happiness and work-life balance do better at their jobs. They show up to work more often, are more productive, and stay with the company longer.

Through the Sonoma County Family YMCA's Workplace Wellness Program, your workforce can have access to an array of resources for increased physical activity and improved overall health. We know all teams are different, which means there isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach to building healthy workplace environments.
