Facility Membership

When you join the Y, you belong to a community of men, women, and children who strive every day to be healthy, confident and committed. A Facility Membership at the Sonoma County Family YMCA entitles you to use the entire facility, which includes the swimming pools, Fitness Center, Group Exercise Room, Cycling Room, Activity Center, basketball court, locker rooms & day use locker, sauna, and Child Watch. Some areas have age designations. As a Facility Member, you will also receive the lowest rates on fee-based programs and priority sign-up for swim lessons.

• "Household" is defined as two adults or seniors living at the same residence
• *Family is defined as adult(s) plus children (age 24 and under) at the same residence.
• **Family Plus is defined as three adults plus children (ages 24 and under) at the same residence.
• Children under age 6 are included in the parent's membership. Children age 6-14 years must convert to a Youth or Family membership to maintain membership status.
• Weekend Memberships - This offers the same Facility Member benefits on a Saturday & Sunday or on 2 consecutive days, including a weekend-day basis only. Example Fri/Sat or Sun/Mon. This Membership is currently offered to our Young Adult, Adult, & 2 Adult Household Memberships.

Join Fee

There is a one-time Join Fee for all new memberships (except Youth). Those who cancel their membership may rejoin within 6 months and not repay the Join Fee. For membership upgrades, the difference in the Join Fee is required.
The Join Fee is non-refundable.

We offer several options to pay these fees; full pay at the time of registration or the fee can be split into 3 equal payments (to be paid in 3 consecutive monthly payments).

YMCA Corporate Wellness Program

A company’s most valuable asset is its employees. A healthy workforce leads to better productivity, less absenteeism, higher company morale, and lower healthcare costs, all of which have a direct impact on the success of the company.

Facility Membership Rates

Program Membership Rates

A Program Membership provides an alternative to Facility Membership for those who only wish to enroll in selected YMCA programs. This membership does not include the use of the facility except when using passes. Benefits include lower program fees than the non-member rate, two facility day passes (good for one visit each), 50% off Youth and Senior Youth facility day pass, and $4 off adult facility day pass.

Fees are $40/year (Individual) or $60/year (Family).

"Family" is defined as more than one family member on the membership.

Day Pass Rates

Nationwide Membership - There is a Y in Every Community 

Nationwide Membership enables you to visit any participating Y in the United States for free using your “home” YMCA  membership (your home location is the facility that enrolled you as a Y member and that collects your membership dues). Not all services may be offered to Nationwide members; this depends on the individual YMCA.  Please contact the specific facility you wish to visit for further details, facility hours, and offerings. 

With a Nationwide YMCA Membership, members have the flexibility to use participating Y facilities throughout the United States at no additional cost. When members are traveling outside their home Y, they can still get their workout in and connect with the larger YMCA community.

Payment Plans

- Annual full payment (Check, Cash, Credit Cards)

- Monthly e-pay (automatic bank or credit card draft)

- Quarterly payments (Add $3 quarterly processing fee)

*You can choose to pay your quarterly and annual payments by automatic draft. The draft automatically pays your dues from a checking account or credit card on an ongoing basis.

The bank draft automatically pays your monthly dues from a checking account or credit card on an ongoing, monthly basis. You can also choose to pay your quarterly and annual payments by automatic draft. All returned drafts will be subject to a $25 service charge. Activation of your monthly bank draft requires one-month payment in advance and a completed e-pay form.

30 days signed, written notice is required for any changes to a bank draft account or to cancel e-pay.

Hold Policies

Memberships may be placed on hold for a minimum of 1 month and a maximum of 3 months in a calendar year. There is a $10/month charge for this service ($5/month for memberships receiving financial assistance and for Youth and Senior Youth membership categories).

Dues Refund

With written notice, the Sonoma County Family YMCA will refund the unused portion of annual and quarterly dues paid by a member.
Monthly auto draft members may cancel their membership with a 30-day written notice.

All refunds are subject to approval and a processing fee.

The Join Fee is non-refundable.

We believe that everyone in our community deserves access to the benefits and services the SCFYMCA provides.

The Y is like no other organization in that we work hard to ensure that our programs are open to all. With financial assistance, eligible families and individuals who otherwise might need an extra hand, have access to our facility and programs.

The SCFYMCA provides financial assistance for anyone who cannot afford the full cost of membership & programs, which is possible thanks to donor contributions, allows us to realize our mission of being open and accessible to all. We hope to create an environment where cost isn’t a barrier, and all people feel welcomed and valued.

2 WAYS TO APPLY FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE?

Instant FA Check System - Applying is easy and only takes a couple of minutes!

• Bring your photo ID to the membership office
• We will run your information (address, name, Ph# and email) through our scholarship system.
• Please note, you must have a permanent residence (no PO Boxes) to apply through our “instant check” system.
• % awarded is based on household income & # of people in the household
• In most cases, you will know immediately if you qualify for assistance and % off for membership/programs.
• This process is not connected to your credit.
• In a small % of cases the system will not be able to make a match for approval. If this happens you will submit a paper application with supporting documents in order to verify your household income. Approval process could take up to 5 business days.   
• Extenuating circumstances – if you don’t qualify, we do take special circumstances into consideration, so you can submit a circumstance letter for review. 

Paper Application

•  If one of the following circumstances applies to you then you will need to complete a paper application and get approved manually:
  
  • In a small % of cases the system will not be able to make a match for approval.
  • Don’t have a permanent address, unhoused or only have a PO Box
•  Complete a paper application
• Attache supporting documents in order to verify your household income.
• Approval process could take up to 5 days.  

The YMCA financial assistance program provides assistance for those in need and can’t afford to pay for the full cost of Y memberships and programs/services. The underlying goal of the YMCA is a commitment to being accessible to all.

The Y uses a sliding fee scale that is based on both total household income and the number of people living w/in the household. We may require supporting documentation to verify the household income and size; however, we also consider special circumstances when determining and providing assistance.

Once granted, YMCA financial assistance is on-going, unless otherwise noted upon approval. You won’t need to reapply each year as long as the household income and # of people living in household hasn’t changed. Our system will automatically recheck each person’s qualification status and % awarded and we will notify you if there are any changes.

No, it does not! The process in no way is connected to your credit.

Y Swim Lessons help keep all ages safe in and around water and teach the skills needed to make swimming a lifelong pursuit for healthy living. Gift cards can be used toward the cost of group or private swim lessons. Lessons begin as young as 6 months and continue through adult age.

GIFT of HEALTHY LIVING - A Y gift card can be applied toward the purchase of a membership, where members have full access to our welcoming & inclusive community. Amenities include top-of-the-line fitness equipment, hundreds of land and water fitness classes, pools, Y360 virtual platform, outdoor fitness center and more.

The Y understands how difficult it can be to find balance in life, and we are grateful to provide a variety of health and wellness programs for every age, interest and ability – and make it fun! Y programs are available to meet the health needs of the individual as well as the entire family. For those with specific goals in mind, our personal trainers can create programs tailored to them!
